This policy explains what information Security Talent LLC collects through SecurityTalent.com, why we use it, when it may be shared and the choices available to you.

1. Scope and controller
This policy applies to SecurityTalent.com and the services, communities, career tools, knowledge resources, marketplaces and memberships provided through it (the “Services”). Security Talent LLC is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Links to third-party sites and services are governed by those parties' privacy policies.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details such as name, username, email address, password credentials and communication preferences.
- Profile and professional information, including biography, work history, skills, certifications, education, location, availability and profile images.
- Organization, recruiting, vendor, training and marketplace information.
- Content and communications, including posts, comments, messages, applications, event activity, support requests and survey responses.
- Verification evidence you elect or are asked to provide, such as workplace, credential, domain-control or business documentation. Enhanced identity review is not required by default and is reserved for appropriate elevated-risk cases.
- Membership and transaction records. Payment-card data is handled by third-party payment processors; SecurityTalent does not intend to store full card numbers.
- Social-login identifiers and profile information supplied by Facebook, Google or another provider according to your settings with that provider.
Information collected automatically
We may collect IP address, browser and device details, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, dates and times, approximate location derived from IP address, cookie identifiers and security or diagnostic logs.
3. Public profiles and content
You control many profile-visibility settings. Information designated public may be visible to visitors and search engines and may be copied or reshared by others. Community posts, organization pages, marketplace listings and other public contributions should not contain confidential or highly sensitive information. Private or member-only settings limit platform display but cannot guarantee that authorized recipients will not copy content.
4. How we use information
- Provide, personalize, secure and maintain the Services.
- Create profiles, enable community features, match talent with opportunities and process memberships.
- Verify accounts, credentials or organizations and prevent spam, fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- Respond to support requests and communicate service, policy and account updates.
- Send marketing or community communications when permitted; you may unsubscribe from promotional email.
- Analyze performance, improve usability, develop features and understand aggregate usage.
- Comply with law, enforce our terms and protect users, SecurityTalent and others.
Where applicable, our legal bases include performing a contract with you, your consent, compliance with legal obligations and our legitimate interests in operating, improving and securing a professional network.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use necessary cookies for sessions, authentication, security and preferences. We may also use analytics or integration cookies to understand usage and support features such as social login. Browser controls can block or delete cookies, but disabling necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or other functions. Where required, we will request consent before using non-essential cookies.
6. When information is shared
We do not sell personal information for money. We may share information:
- With the public or other members according to your settings and actions.
- With service providers supporting hosting, email, analytics, security, customer support, payment processing, authentication and other operations, subject to appropriate contractual obligations.
- With an employer, recruiter, training provider or other recipient when you direct us to share it or submit an application or inquiry.
- To comply with law or legal process, investigate misuse, protect rights or safety, or establish and defend legal claims.
- In connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.

7. Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain legitimate business and security records, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Retention varies by data type and account status. Public content may remain available after account closure when necessary to preserve community context, comply with law or honor another user's rights, but we may de-identify it where appropriate.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted transmission where appropriate, access controls, logging and security monitoring. No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for using a strong, unique password, protecting your sign-in methods and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.
9. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of personal information, obtain a portable copy, withdraw consent or appeal certain decisions. You may update many account and profile fields directly. Requests can be submitted through our contact page. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where permitted or required by law.
You may unsubscribe from promotional email using the message link. Service and security notices may still be sent while your account remains active.
10. International users
SecurityTalent serves an international community. Information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for cross-border transfers. Local law may provide additional rights.
11. Children
The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. Contact us if you believe a child has supplied information.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the Services or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version, and material changes may also be communicated through the site or email.

Purposes and lawful bases
- Contract: create and operate your account, profile, applications, messages, memberships and requested services.
- Legitimate interests: secure the network, prevent fraud and abuse, provide relevant professional discovery, improve features and measure service performance, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation: maintain required records and respond to valid legal process.
- Consent: optional marketing, non-essential cookies, optional integrations and other processing where consent is the appropriate basis. You may withdraw consent prospectively at any time.
Data covered
- Identity, contact, account and authentication data.
- Professional profile, employment, education, skills, credentials, resume and verification evidence you choose to provide.
- Community content, messages, applications, preferences, support and transaction records.
- Device, cookie, IP, security, usage and diagnostic data.
- We do not ask you to publish sensitive or special-category data. Do not add it unless necessary and lawful; where consent is required it must be explicit.
Public profiles and professional discovery
Fields you make public may be displayed to visitors, members and search engines. Member-only or private settings reduce platform visibility. Review your SecurityTalent member platform privacy controls before publishing a resume, credential evidence or other information. SecurityTalent recommendations and career-path tools support discovery; they do not make hiring or employment decisions.
Recipients and processors
We disclose data according to your settings and instructions, including to members, employers or recruiters you engage with. Providers may process data for hosting, email, security, analytics, authentication, support, payments and platform operations under appropriate contractual and confidentiality duties. We may also disclose data when legally required or necessary to protect rights and safety. We do not sell personal data for money.
International transfers
SecurityTalent is operated from the United States and may use providers in other countries. Where European transfer rules apply, we use a recognized mechanism appropriate to the transfer, such as an adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses and supplementary safeguards where needed, or another lawful derogation.
Retention and deletion
We keep data only as long as reasonably needed for the stated purpose, account operation, security, disputes and legal duties. Criteria include account status, record type, community context, contractual and statutory periods and fraud risk. On closure or erasure, data is deleted or de-identified unless retention is permitted or required. Limited backups and security records may persist until their normal expiry.
Your European data rights
Subject to legal conditions and exemptions, you may:
- be informed about processing;
- access your personal data;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request erasure;
- restrict processing;
- receive portable data you supplied in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests and object at any time to direct marketing;
- withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing;
- not be subject to a solely automated decision with legal or similarly significant effects, where the right applies.
We normally respond within one month after receiving and verifying a request. A complex or multiple request may be extended by up to two additional months where the law permits; we will explain the extension within the first month.

Automated processing
We may use rules, ranking and recommendations to detect abuse, organize content or suggest opportunities and career paths. SecurityTalent does not use these tools to make a solely automated hiring, certification, credit or other decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Complaints and safeguards
Contact us first so we can address the concern. You also have the right to complain to the data-protection supervisory authority in the EU or EEA country where you live or work, or where the issue occurred; UK residents may contact the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. No online system is risk-free, but we use access controls, encryption in transit, logging, monitoring and organizational safeguards proportionate to the data and risk.
