Job description
This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Coast Guard, Aviation Logistics Center (ALC), Information Systems Division, Applications Branch, Elizabeth City, NC. The incumbent will serve as an IT Specialist and be responsible for analytical problem solving, testing, evaluating, and knowledge of systems security, maintenance, and/or management of networked and non-networked systems. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Ensuring that security improvement actions are evaluated, validated, and implemented as required. Ensuring that cybersecurity requirements are integrated into the continuity planning for that system and/or organization(s). Ensuring that protection and detection capabilities are acquired or developed using the IS security engineering approach and are consistent with organization-level cybersecurity architecture. Analyzing organization's cyber defense policies and configurations and evaluating compliance with regulations and organizational directives.
