About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the HQ USSOUTHCOM, Security and Intelligence Directorate, Doral Miami, Florida. Serves as a Security Specialist for the USSOUTHCOM Insider Threat Program (InTP), responsible for protecting command personnel, property, and information from individuals who use their authorized access to harm U.S. national security. Conducts holistic risk analysis by collecting, correlating, and interpreting data from classified and unclassified sources to identify behaviors indicative of an insider threat. Performs inquiries as directed by developing action plans, conducting interviews, reviewing official records (personnel, financial, travel, computer), and facilitating actions by investigative authorities. Develops methodologies to produce USSOUTHCOM-wide trend analysis products concerning insider threat incidents, associated risks, and mitigation measures.
